TTNA ACTIVITIES 2007-08 and 2008-09
During the past year, membership funds have contributed to the successes and growth of the TTN industry, particularly through the TTNA’s lobbying and participation on the TCF Review committee.

Events and Collaboration
The TTNA officially visited Queensland for the first time in February 2007 and created a pattern with a second briefing there in March 2008, in collaboration with the Australian Nanotechnology Alliance (ANA).  New business friends were made amongst Queensland government, ANA, TTNA and guests in Queensland, and all are regularly updated on the good news coming from the TTN industries.

Future collaborative events will include a briefing in September 08 with Composites Australia (CA) and Deakin University, and sharing space with the Australian Canvas and Synthetic Products Association (ACASPA) for respective annual conferences in Melbourne on 1st June 2009.

The TTNA continues to enjoy a cooperative relationship with RMIT.  We are grateful for RMIT’s commitment to industry by supplying the TTNA with venues throughout the year and look forward to future mutually beneficial events and situations.

A Memoranda of Cooperation has been signed with the ACASPA.  Future memoranda of cooperation will be signed with Composites Australia, the European Disposables and Nonwoven Association (EDANA) and INDA (the Industrial Nonwoven Disposables Association in the USA).  The new TTNA Membership Policy (May 2008) will allow further expansion of collaborative effort with recognition of reciprocal members

Annual Conference 2007 – The Three Rs: The NSW government and Albury council were represented at the annual conference last year, helping to spread the word to the regions about this growth industry.  The regional location provided a relaxed atmosphere for learning at the conference and the annual dinner’s surprise bus trip and entertainment were just the pre-cursors to a thoroughly enjoyable night of eating and bush dancing.   See the TTNA’s website (conference page) for details of all past conferences.

Training: Our educational programs continued to expand due to our collaboration with the International Fibre Centre (IFC), CSIRO and RMIT.

The TTNA’s full suite of training programs has been reproduced on the TTNA’s website – click here for details.

The TTNA Website: The website that was launched in September 2006 continues to grow and is used to market our programs, briefings and policy.  In the last financial year you it expanded with the members only section and relevant industrial classified advertising.  We are further expanding our reach by establishing a dedicated website to the TTNA annual conference.  Each year, www.textileconference.com will showcase the complete details of the annual conference, including travel arrangements, hotel accommodation, speaker biographies and sponsors’ exhibition page.  Please click here for the dedicated TTNA conference website - www.textileconference.com.
